Spanish
At Little Parndon Primary Academy, our Spanish curriculum is designed to instill a love of language learning and foster an awareness of diverse cultures. We aim for our pupils to develop the confidence to communicate effectively in Spanish, both in writing and speaking, for practical purposes.
Building a Foundation for Language Learning
Our Spanish scheme of work provides pupils with a solid foundation for language learning. This foundation encourages them to apply their skills to other languages, facilitates further language study, and opens future opportunities for studying and working abroad - shaping their future! By following Kapow Primary’s Spanish scheme, we ensure that our pupils meet the National Curriculum end of Key Stage 2 attainment targets, equipping them with essential language skills.
Structured and Sequenced Learning
Our Spanish curriculum is meticulously planned and sequenced to teach the three fundamental building blocks of language:
- Phonics
- Vocabulary
- Grammar
These building blocks are integrated into a variety of contexts, enabling pupils to develop their skills comprehensively across the following strands:
- Language Comprehension: Listening and reading
- Language Production: Speaking and writing
Practical Application and Skill Development
Our curriculum ensures that pupils have ample opportunities to practice and apply their new learning across all four modalities. Through engaging activities and practical exercises, students connect their knowledge of phonics, vocabulary, and grammar to create meaningful communication in Spanish.
At Little Parndon, we are committed to providing a dynamic and enriching Spanish education that not only meets curriculum standards but also inspires a lifelong appreciation for language learning and cultural exploration.
