An enormous THANK YOU to everyone who attended our book fair. We managed to sell £1301 worth of books, which will give us over £700 in vouchers to spend on books for the school. A huge thank you to Miss Budd for organising the event and to everyone who helped run it!

We’re thrilled to announce the installation of two brand-new sensory rooms at LPA, designed to support the wellbeing and development of our children! ✨ Our Padded Room – linked to The Grove provision, with a vibroacoustic chair and projector, offers a safe, calming space.

✨ Our Whole-School Sensory Room – open to all pupils, featuring a music wall, tube light, sensory light wall, hanging fibre lights, projector and vibroacoustic chair. Both spaces are designed to help children regulate, engage, and thrive!

Yesterday, our youngest children extended their learning on dinosaurs by going to Hertfordshire Zoo. The children had a talk, walked through dinosaur land and later got to see some of the other animals in the zoo. They all had an amazing time, even though it was COLD!

At LPA, we've launched several new curriculum areas over the past two years. Among these is our art curriculum. In Year 6 they explore the works of the artist Rembrandt. Curriculum Subjects

The role of the curriculum is to shape our children’s futures. We want our students to be changed by our curriculum: they need to be able to understand time and place and their identity and role in contributing to the local, national and global communities.

At Little Parndon, our vision and values drive our curriculum. We believe wholeheartedly in shaping children’s future through education. The Little Parndon student is:

Confident. They know why learning is important. They know what helps them to learn. They know their strengths and areas that need further development. They enjoy learning. They know they are in control of their own journey but also how to live and work well with the rest of us, each on our own journey. They have respect for everyone and everything. They know that we are not all the same and therefore do not all need the same. We all have a place in a world shared with each other and with nature. Little Parndon students understand the responsibility this brings.

In order to achieve this, every young person, whilst at little Parndon, will be educated in and be part of a community which daily promotes its values and vision. We want all of our students to be educated:

  • A progressive and sequential curriculum designed to develop a depth of knowledge. The integrity of each subject is respected with key vocabulary being explicitly taught.
  • An interwoven, rich curriculum that is designed to support students’ retention and retrieval of knowledge
