Parental Engagement

At Little Parndon Primary Academy, we believe that strong parental engagement is essential for the success and wellbeing of our students. We are committed to maintaining open and effective communication with parents and carers, fostering a collaborative environment where every child can thrive.

Communicating with You

We encourage parents and carers to reach out to us regarding any concerns, including a child’s absence, via email at admin@bmatlittleparndon.org.uk or by phone at 01279 425600.

  • Letters and Newsletters: Important information, updates, and celebrations are shared with parents and carers through our ParentMail system. Our regular newsletters from the Headteacher keep you informed about school events, recognise student achievements, and provide crucial updates on school matters.
  • Social Media: Follow us on X (Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook for regular updates on school activities and events.
  • Website: Visit our website for photos, term dates, information about the school and events. We encourage parents to regularly check the website to stay up-to-date with school news.
  • Class Email Addresses: Each class has a dedicated email address following the format LPA(class name)@bmatlittleparndon.org.uk (e.g., Ash class is LPAash@bmatlittleparndon.org.uk) for direct communication with teachers. Please note that teachers will not be able to respond to emails throughout the day. Any important information or issues that need quick response should be communicated to the school office team.

Open Door Policy

We pride ourselves on being an open and welcoming school. Parents and carers are always welcome to visit our learning environment, discuss concerns, and share positive experiences. For meetings with teachers, please use the class email address or contact the school office to schedule an appointment.

Class Assemblies

We regularly celebrate children’s achievements and learning through class assemblies. Families are encouraged to attend and witness the hard work and creativity of our students. To ensure a respectful atmosphere, we request that small children not attend these events. Dates and times will be communicated by the class teacher.

Governors' Assemblies

Governors' Assemblies are special events where we recognise and celebrate the hard work and achievements of our students. If your child is to receive a Governor's Award, you will be invited to the assembly to celebrate this special moment with them. These assemblies highlight the dedication and accomplishments of our students, reinforcing the value of resilience.

Parents’ Evenings and Meet the Teacher

We hold two parents’ evenings each year. At the beginning of the Autumn term, parents are invited to a ‘Meet the Teacher’ event to learn about expectations and the curriculum for the year. Later in the term, you will have an appointment to discuss your child’s progress and areas for development. In the Autumn and Spring terms, you will receive updates on your child's progress in core subjects. After Easter, a detailed written report will be provided, which can be discussed with the teacher if needed.

Special Events

Throughout the year, we host special events where families can participate in activities with their children. These events range from math activities, creative projects and BBQ and Bounce, depending on the current focus and celebrations at the time.

Parent Workshops

We offer a variety of parent workshops throughout the year on topics such as Math, Phonics, Positive Behavior, Reading, and SATs preparation. Additionally, we are proud to be the only primary school in the UK with dedicated support from Affinity, a charity that assists schools, parents, and pupils with behavior and mental health issues.
